Sustainable retirement withdrawal strategies

How much money do I need to retire? How much money can I safely withdraw from my retirement portfolio each year?
    Professional Sites:
    1. Retirement planners from T. Rowe Price: an inexpensive do-it-yourself version and a more expensive comprehensive personalized calculator
    2. Sue Stevens, Morningstar.com's financial planner, evaluates T. Rowe Price's retirement withdrawal rate calculator
    3. Henry Hebeler's Analyze Now has gloomier predictions for sustainable withdrawal rates. I have not tried his spreadsheets. You can read his free publications at this site.
